Module Overview
Build a solid theological foundation by exploring the essential doctrines of the Christian faith. This module equips students with a biblical understanding of God, salvation, the Church, eternity, and other foundational truths, enabling them to think theologically, live biblically, and defend the faith with confidence.
Module Learning Outcomes
By the end of this certificate, students will be able to:
- State the central doctrines of the Christian faith in their own words, including the nature and attributes of God, the person and work of Christ, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, salvation by grace through faith, the identity and mission of the Church, and the hope of eternity; and show how each depends on the others.
- Ground each doctrine in Scripture, citing the passages the What We Believe volumes treat as load-bearing and explaining what each passage actually establishes.
- Identify the common distortions of each doctrine, name why each fails, and correct it without overstating what Scripture does not say.
- Apply doctrine pastorally to worship, suffering, grief, and daily life so that what is believed is visible in how it is lived and taught.
